Fine Art Gallery

This gallery is for all my fine art outside of pet portraiture.

Whilst I specialise in pet portraits and wildlife art, I do enjoy painting a variety of subjects

so you will also find human portraits, landscapes, botanicals and maybe even the occasional abstract amongst my portfolio of work!

Many of my originals are available for sale.

If the original has already sold, contact me to enquire about commissioning something similar!

New Holland Honeyeater

Acrylic on canvas, 8” x 10”

I spotted this New Holland honeyeater enjoying the pollen from an Aloe flower on a recent visit to Perth Zoo.  His little face was covered with the bright orange pollen and I just had to take his photograph.

I wanted to show how a little canvas can really pack a punch - I’ve used really bright, lurid greens and yellows and kept the composition simple to allow the bird to really shine in his natural habitat.

Honeyeater on Agapanthus

Acrylic on canvas, 12” x 12”

When I first moved to Australia, the vibrant and varied birdlife found so readily in our back gardens and local parks was one of the first things I noticed.  I am so lucky to live in a country that provides such constant inspiration in nature.

This little honeyeater is one of many who frequents our back garden - they are nervous creatures but left in peace they happily enjoy the flowers in our garden, of which the agapanthus are a particular favourite.

Who will hug the trees now…?

Acrylic on canvas, 22” x 28”

As an artist it’s an honour to be able to use my gift to help raise awareness for worthy causes.  The plight of our koalas is one such cause that I had the honour of collaborating with, by contributing this painting to “100 Artworks for a Koala”, a travelling exhibition by Living With Koalas which aims to help fund the planting of 100,000 koala food trees.

“I grew up in the UK but knew from a young age that I wanted to live in Australia – this far away, vast and beautiful land with its iconic wildlife of kangaroos and koalas. To think that the beautiful koalas who are so synonymous with Australia, could soon become extinct, is a heartbreaking prospect.  It’s an honour to be able to take part in this project helping to raise awareness for, and conserve, this beautiful species.  My portrait ‘Who will hug the trees now..?’  is based on a photo I took during a recent visit to Perth Zoo, and depicts a koala in the pose they are most known for, hugging a tree whilst being embraced by its eucalyptus leaves, which serve as both its home and only food source.”
